GCEX Hires IS Prime’s Co-Founder Jonathan Brewer

GCEX has strengthened its leadership with Jonathan Brewer’s latest appointment as Chief Revenue Officer. Brewer was a co-founder of IS Prime but separated from that company last year.

In his new role at GCEX, Brewer will focus on driving growth from institutional and professional clients across all GCEX entities, including the UK, Denmark and UAE. He will also work closely with GCEX’s founder and CEO, Lars Holst, on the growth strategy.

“Jonathan is very well known and widely respected in our industry, with a reputation for delivering growth and a focus on innovation and market integrity,” said Holst. “It is a significant endorsement that he has chosen to join our team.”

“His insight, network and extensive industry and leadership experience will be a huge asset to GCEX.”

Headquartered in London, GCEX was established in 2018 by Lars Holst. It offers brokers, hedge funds, and professional traders access to deep liquidity in FX and digital assets and a range of technology solutions.

Over the years, the company expanded its geographical reach and obtained cryptocurrency licenses and registrations in Denmark and Dubai. The company also acquired a Danish license to offer rolling Spot FX and CFDs to institutional clients.

An Industry Veteran

Brewer separated from IS Prime as the Managing Director and ISAM Capital Markets as the Commercial Director last year after spending eight and a half years there. He was also joined by Raj Sitlani, the other co-founder of IS Prime, to separate from the company, interestingly after a couple of weeks of rebranding.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Brewer started his career at IBM in 1999 but quickly switched to Goldman Sachs as an Associate. Before co-founding IS Prime, he was the Head of eFX Sales at Sucden Financial for about six years.

“GCEX has a very compelling product make-up, as one of the only companies that seamlessly bridges the frontier between traditional and digital assets,” Brewer said. “The opportunity to work with Lars, thereby putting together the founders of CFH and IS Prime, the two stand-out global Prime of Primes of the last 10 years, was too good a chance to pass up.”
